D1 sponsored the launch of Jacky Tsai’s solo art show at the Fine Art Society in London. Using the theme of Eastern and Western culture of art and fashion, D1 provided bespoke cocktails featuring the soon-to-be-launched D1 Potato Vodka.
Guests enjoyed D1 Vodka in The Water Margin on Fifth Avenue, a smoky twist on the classic metropolitan cocktail.
Combine 60ml of D1 Vodka with 5ml of Belsazar dry vermouth green tea and peach wood smoke. Stir the D1 Vodka and vermouth over cube iced and decant into a bottle. Light the green tea and peach wood infusion, using a smoking gun to smoke and flavour the martini. Strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with a tea syrup peal to recreate the steamy streets of Manhattan.
Two other cocktails enjoyed by guests were The Affair to the East and The Romance at the Hamptons, featuring the multi-award winning D1 London Gin.
The Affair to the East combines traditional zest with a Chinese twist of hoisin. Add 35ml D1 Gin, 25ml fresh lemon juice, 10ml hoisin syrup and 10ml egg whites to a Boston glass without ice and shake. Fill the shaker with ice and shake again. Strain into a jam jar and garnish with a twist of lemon zest to create a sinful gin sour.
Add 35ml of D1 Gin, 15ml raspberry puree and 10ml yuzu juice into a Boston glass filled with cubed ice and shake to create The Romance at the Hamptons. Strain into a chilled coupe glass and garish with blue tinted rosewater foam with an edible flower petal – a perfectly sweet marriage of rosewater foam, juzu and gin.
