When a glamourous women’s clothing brand holds a press launch they certainly know how to do it in style.
Last Wednesday (May 11) we were invited to attend the ultra-stylish press day for the luxury chain Mint Velvet which took place at the stunning Getty Images Gallery in London.
The event debuted the latest collection of Mint Velvet’s ‘relaxed glamour’ style clothing which will appear in shops later in the year.
Mint Velvet was started seven years ago by three working mums who wanted to wear stylish clothes, without suffering the glamourous price tag. The press day last week was delightful in its super trendiness and along with the amazing setting and latest clothing featured some relaxing yoga classes and delicious food.
But where did we come in? Of course we were there to complement the style of the event and delight the guests with some beautiful cocktails, mixed for them as they waited and presented to perfection. We created and served two on the night which were:
D1 Mint Gimlet
50ml D1 London Dry Gin
10ml Monin cucumber syrup
15ml fresh lime juice
6 mint leaves
How to do it: Chill a coupe glass by placing in the freezer for at least 15 minutes or filling it with ice. Add plenty of cubed ice into a cocktail shaker and add the gin, syrup, lime juice, mint and shake very hard. Double strain the contents of the shaker into the chilled coupe and garnish with a mint leaf.
D1 Summer Cobbler
50ml D1 Potato Vodka infused with pink grapefruit and rosemary*
150ml Fever Tree ginger ale
How to do it: Fill a hi-ball glass with cubed ice and pour over the infused D1 Potato Vodka. Top with ginger ale and stir. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and slice of pink grapefruit.
*To infuse the D1 Potato Vodka simply empty the bottle into a large jug or jar. Tear apart 1 sprig of rosemary and add to the jar. Peel one pink grapefruit, ensuring no pith remains on the peel, and drop into the jar. Stir and leave for 1 hour. Strain the mixture back into the bottle and refrigerate.
If you were wondering, the event may have been incredible in its chic simplicity, but, of course, the delicious drinks didn’t end there. We also provided guests with two perfect serves, which were ideal for an event that’s held on the approach to summer:
